The live poultry industry in the North East services the local marketplace with a high-level gourmet poultry product sought by those consumers and retailers who demand a better product than those typically found in supermarkets. Eastern Poultry supply live poultry and poultry products to the over half of the 100+ live wholesale poultry markets in the surrounding Tri-State area.

Eastern Poultry are farmers and distributors of live poultry. Eastern Poultry maintain significant market share by offering a better poultry product, focused customer service especially on delivery times, and expedited settlement of complaints. Instead of getting our supplies from farmers who dictate our supply numbers, we established our own grow-out program that increased supply and allow us more flexibility to service our clients’ need.

The owners, Robert Chan and Henry Eng, spend a good deal of their time on high level planning, strategy, and implementation. We have established a business that runs self-sufficiently on a day-to-day basis. Our new state of the art staging and distribution facility in Newark, NJ, has been organized around three separate fundamental business processes, which are: Receiving, Processing, and Distributions. Each process is under the supervision of a Team Leader who attends to the day-to-day operation under their watch. Both team leaders are thoroughly cross trained in each other’s job responsibilities.

Partner Robert oversees the entire marketing and operations along with all farming activities and supply chain processes. Partner Henry is responsible for all the administrative aspects including legal, accounting, finance, banking, accounts payable/receivables, insurance and record keeping.
